COSPLAY and the Hall of heroes
Cosplayers are critical partners with the museum. Exploring and demonstrating their interest in superheroes and villains through showing up in character, cosplayers bring to life characters that many would otherwise only experience in comics, with toys, or on TV or in movies. The museum has many opportunities throughout the year for you to show your favorite character(s) to the public. Our biggest event is the Garden of Villains every October, hosted by the Wellfield Botanic Gardens in Elkhart, IN. This involves many cosplayers welcoming kids and their families and handing out candy as the families stroll through the Halloween decorated gardens. Throughout the year we have special events at the museum such as Marvel Day, DC Day, and Santa and the Superheroes. In 2025 we also hosted Captain America’s Valentine’s Day in conjunction with the release of Captain America: Brave New World. Beyond the museum we do community outreach such as anti-bullying campaigns in the school, leveraging the students’ familiarity with superheroes and villains to connect with them. All of these need cosplayer support to be successful.
So whether you are new or experienced, perform 1 character or several, we have opportunities for all superhero and villain cosplayers to show their stuff!
